About the Artist

Olive St Studio Jewelry is the work of artist Jane Tungka. She began making jewelry in 2020 and has since devoted the practice to handmade pieces, made in Laguna Beach and shaped by the California coast.

Each piece begins with stones and materials chosen by hand. The palette follows what the shoreline gives—water, sandstone, and the particular light of the coastline. Those colors become the design. Nothing is incidental. Every form is then meticulously wire-wrapped in the studio, one piece at a time.

The work is slow, exacting, and made to be worn. Not produced. Not repeated in volume. Simply made, by the artist, from what the coast offers and what the hand can hold.

The work may also be seen in person at Hotel Laguna, Art Walk, hosted by Musing Art Gallery the first Thursday of every month.
